Sharpe Engineering provides project engineering and project management services strictly to companies in the food processing industry. Our purpose is to help you complete your projects smoothly and successfully. This includes being on-time for completion, within budget, and most importantly meeting or exceeding the goals set forth for your production lines in order to increase profitability and justify the project costs. Sharpe Engineering provides services and equipment that contribute to the growth and profitability of food processing companies by working with you as an engineering resource in a non-biased manner. We essentially work as a part of your internal engineering group as a resource. We are always looking out for your benefit and understand the goals of increasing the productivity of your plant and the quality of your products while decreasing the cost per unit to produce your product. We also take great pride in the fact we understand how to function as a part of a project team, as well as lead that team to success. Although this claim is easily made, we attribute it to be the key to our success in previous projects and look for it to be the key on future projects as well. This involves working closely with the management of your plant as well as the maintenance and production staffs to insure the overall success of the project, even after implementation. Sharpe Engineering understands the intricacies of processing various food products. We understand product handling issues, sanitation issues, government regulations, and your need to produce consistent, quality products while minimizing the downtime and maintenance requirements. Sharpe Engineering has seasoned engineers and project managers with many years of experience in a variety of food industries including meat, dairy, vegetable, and bakery. Our engineers are project engineers and therefore are not only looking at the mechanics of an individual piece of equipment, but are equally concerned with the overall functionality of the system as well as the justifications and pay backs involved. Even if Sharpe Engineering is not involved in the overall engineering and management of the entire project, you can be assured that our engineers are looking out for your interest in these areas. Sharpe Engineering can manage an entire project from concept and feasibility planning through installation and integration. A common project will typically involve preliminary engineering and a feasibility study, layout work, developing bid packages, schedules, budgets, equipment specifications and integration, custom equipment design and fabrication, and management of the installation process. We are also on site during testing, debugging, and start-up. We have good relationships with many of the equipment suppliers typically involved in the food processing industry including both processing equipment and packaging equipment. We know the capabilities, quality, and relative justification of this equipment and can provide sound recommendations based on your applications and requirements. We can handle as much of the project as is practical, with members of your company as involved as much (or little) as you wish. We understand the importance of focused project management to keep the project well directed and "under control" both from a financial and scheduling standpoint. We work with equipment manufactures, fabricators, and contractors of all types and manage these services in order to reduce the overall costs incurred and provide for a smooth and efficient project completion and start-up. It is important to understand that Sharpe Engineering does not manufacture a "line" of equipment, nor do we represent the interests of any particular manufacturers. We work solely for the owner of the project, in their best interest, and work to complete the project in time, within budget, and to satisfy the objectives of the project and the plant. We have no desire or motivation to increase the scope or cost of the project beyond its established objectives. In contrast we would prefer the project to be completed under budget, thus assisting with the further success of our customer. We believe this in turn furthers our opportunities to continue a relationship of proving project engineering and project management services on future projects. |
